During Netflix’s hit show Orange is the New Black Season 5 episode 6 entitled "Flaming Hot Cheetos, Literally", the female inmates receive a box of Flaming Hot Cheetos from the governor who wants them to release the hostages that they have held from previous episodes. They refuse to do so until their demands are met; once they weren’t met, they subsequently create a bonfire of the Cheetos in the front of the prison while being filmed by the press (Morelli, & McCarthy, 2017). The product placement in this episode was very obvious as the entire show focused on the ladies receiving the Cheetos as an incentive to release the prisoners as mentioned above. I didn’t feel deceived by the actors or producers, nor did I find myself any more likely to purchase Flaming Hot Cheetos than I would have before, as it’s not something that I normally eat. Also, the context in
Recently the public school districts began enforcing a stricter meal policy, however it doesn’t go far

Throughout the story, description and figurative language is used to convey the deep-rooted hatred that Hatcher develops for his grandmother Blunt.
As I walked into the cafeteria, I caught a whiff of the food being prepared in the cafeteria and thought to myself, “Why can’t we go off-campus to get lunch?” While SLA, the lunch program at Catholic High, provides the school lunches, there could be an alternative solution to this. Unfortunately, students are detained at school during lunch hours and are not able to leave campus during lunch forcing them to be served by SLA or bring their own lunch. If Catholic High School were to introduce an open-campus lunch, students and faculty would benefit greatly. While SLA does provide the lunch at CHS, they do not live up to their standard of “high quality, nutritious, and cost efficient”.
Children living in poverty were eligible for a free or reduced price lunch but, this changed when Reagan came into office. Have you ever wondered why our school lunches are not that great? This is partly because of Reagan’s cut on federal school lunch spending in 1981. ” In 1981, as part of an attempt to curtail government waste, the Reagan Administration slashed Federal school lunch spending by $1.5 billion”(Rude). They tried make portions smaller in school lunches and stated ketchup was a vegetable to meet the nutritional requirements.

In an America that was consuming hotdogs, hamburgers, and other convenient foods at home, Baker was on a mission to get people to eat more chicken. His experiments with chicken led him to a break thru with the chicken nugget. His nugget called a “chicken crispie” didn't take off until 20 years later when big time fast food chain McDonalds notice his invention. McDonalds was under a hamburger crisis due to the US government so leaders of McDonalds needed to come up with a solution. After getting Bakers' idea and changing the name to Chicken Nugget, Mcdonalds had a major hit.

The entire day is composed of students being herded in masses to and from classrooms and eating the awful food. America needs to rethink how high schools work, and the best way to start is to allow open-campus lunches. Allowing students to leave campus and purchase their own food gives the students the freedom to make choices. This is a freedom every American has and is the basis of capitalism. Plain and simple, cafeteria food is disgusting.
For all the cuts that have been made to school foods, six percent has not been a big decrease. School lunches don’t provide any nutritional value for the kids. The purpose for a school lunch is to provide kids with a dependable lunch that has good proportional amounts and nutrition value. The obesity rates need to drop higher and faster in the next ten years if they want to make cuts out of our meals and the meals need to be proportioned to size.
Imagine you’ve just sat down for class when you hear loud popping noises coming from the hallway. Suddenly you realize those popping noises are gunshots, they are coming closer, and you 're trapped in your classroom with only a door separating you and the shooter. Right now you 're right in the middle of the Sandy Hook School shooting. Adam Lanza was the man holding the gun, and the students in Sandy Hook were his victims. Unfortunately the students weren’t the only victims, Adam was also a victim to lack of mental health treatment for most of his own life.
To begin with, the taste alone of school lunches is beyond unsatisfactory. The meals provided by public schools are not appetizing. There exists a tangible disconnect between the enticing, nutritious meals advertised on the school board’s menus and what the students actually receive—pathetic portions and lukewarm meals slapped onto a tray. Children’s complaints about school lunches are often seen as trite. However, while common, they are not any less accurate.
Today McDonald’s has many more competitors such as; Carl’s Jr., Sonic, Chick-Fil-A and Burger King, which now provides kid’s meals with toys. Parents are infuriated by the fact that the free toy is making their children want the unhealthy food, yet they feel obligated to buy the meal to make their child happy.
