Walter Palmer, an American dentist from Minnesota went on a hunting trip to Zimbabwe at the beginning of July. He was found to be responsible for shooting Cecil, a protected lion that was one of the most popular tourist attractions in Zimbabwe's Hwange National Park. Palmer denies knowing that the animal was protected when he killed it, although some people believe otherwise.
