A large topic of controversy, should Planned ParentHood stop receiving government funding? This has been a large topic in recent political debates and talks. Many people are pro-choice, while others are typically anti abortion. Those who are anti abortion typically men, or very conservative people. Should Planned ParentHood only be funded by private parties?

“While Planned Parenthood provides abortions at some of their clinics, it also provides healthcare services for poor women, including checkups, mammograms, cervical cancer screenings and contraceptives.” -Juan Williams. A typical misconception of PP is that it is only a medical center for abortions, PP is so much more to many women around the United States. Many services are provided, but not limited to; abortions, access to birth control, condoms, prenatal care, sexually transmitted disease testing, breast cancer screening, and mammograms. The services that are provided are completely free, which helps so many women who are in dire need for medical attention. Not only are women given access to medical attention, they are also given access to particular types of needed checkups, contraceptives, and sex education. …show more content…

PP also provides important information that women may have not had access to in schools or from their parental figures. Many stories have been told, where women go into the clinic wanting an abortion, but not being 100% sure about the process or idea. Nurses/ Doctors will send them home, and think about it, and many children are the result of nurses looking out for the patient.
