Retailer's’ return policies vary, but all customers have the right to return purchases with a receipt. Some customers wonder why the retailers let them not return their items because there are pros and cons of returning items that they bought from that store. Like I said before, all customers have the right to return all purchases back to their stores with a receipt. All customers have the right to return all purchases back to stores with a receipt because they don’t need it anymore, they got a better deal at another store and it was broken.

Some store retailers think that customers shouldn’t return their store bought item because what’s the point in returning something you already used. Certain stores like Walmart have a specific way of returning certain things; such as swimming pool, computers, pre-paid cell phones or unopened video games. When it comes to Walmart, they have a certain return policy that they like to utilize because everything is not the same price and they want to satisfy their customer the best way they know how. And what better way to do that then by letting them know about the return policy and being more specific on what can be returned with or without a receipt and within what timeframe. Some retailers don’t feel like they should accept customer’s returns because it might be a fraud which I completely understand. There’s a statistics that says, “Retailers reportedly lost $14.4 billion (up from $9.4 billion in 2009) to fraudulent returns such as ward robing in which people buy products like big screen televisions or party dresses to use for an event, and then return them.” Kit Yarrow (September 04, 2012). This quote basically means the customers just buy whatever they need and use it or wear it and then return it after they are done with it. For an example, a woman explained on how she took advantage of Nordstrom’s return system because she bought three bras from the retailer, then lost the weight after she worn them for a while and decided to come back to get her new size. Kit Yarrow (September 04, 2012). Right there, is definitely taking an advantage of the marketing which they should be hard on the return policy but they need to understand that nobody stays the same
