Counterculture’s legacy is still present in Western society. The Hippie Movement morphed into the peoples personal ‘Green Movement’, environmentalism, sustainability, nonviolence and social justice concerns. Also, all this enthusiasm for avoiding chemicals, alternative health, natural childbirth and a large etcetera came from the Counterculture. The 60s opened the debates that would challenge traditional codes of behaviour associated with sexuality, allowing to make visible non-heterosexual and non-monogamous relationships, increasing the acceptance of legal abortion and the use of contraception, etc. The movement helped to move towards greater tolerance for different sexual realities and care for its protection and rights in the future.
