H. H. Holmes was born on May 16, 1861 in Gilmanton, New Hampshire. H. H. Holmes was not his original name, his original name was Herman Webster Mudgett. When Holmes was abused he would go to the forest behind there house afterward. That is where he started to dissect and develop a love for dead and alive animals. Holmes was also bullied at school. One of those times was when he was blindsided and forced into a doctors office where the bullies placed the hands of a skeleton over his face. The abuse, bullying, and the love for dead things all resulted in his first kill. When Holmes was eleven years old he and his friend Tom were at an old abandoned home together and there was a ledge. Holmes said that Tom fell off the ledge but he was close enough to where he could push Tom. When Holmes was sixteen years old he graduated high school he alo fell in love with a girl. Her name was Clara A. Lovering. She was a nice girl and everybody seemed to like her. Clara had said that they had met each other while Holmes was working on her father's farm. Later on he saw that another boy was flirting with her so he told him to back off or something was going to happen. People said that Holmes was someone you should not mess with. This hotel was specifically built to murder people in wicked ways. It was three stories tall and had many different chambers to murder, store and get rid of people. Holmes had to keep a close eye on the workers who was building the hotel. He fired many people so they did not figure out what the hotel actually was. Only holmes knew what it was and what it could do. The hotels first floor consisted of shops. There was a drugstore on the corner so he could work until killing people was his full time job. The second floor consisted of the different chambers and rooms he used for killing. The third floor had many different features one of those were the maze like hallways and random staircases. Another thing was it had the rooms people stayed in. They were not your ordinary rooms, they had trap doors that would lead to the basement, some of the rooms were soundproof so you couldn’t hear them scream, and there peep holes in some of the rooms so he could watch his victims. There was also one more floor, that was the basement. In the basement there was a crematory, acid vats and pits of quicklime, which were all used to get rid of bodies.
