Glory, a movie directed by Edward Zwickis, is the story of the formation and growing of the Massachusetts 54th, a union volunteer infantry composed only of black persons and commanded by the officer Robert t. Shawn, who after having fought and being hurt at the battle of Antietam is chosen by Massachusetts Governor John A. Andrew to do the job. This movie based of some of the real Robert Shawn's writings, gives a realistic view of what Shawn and the members infantry went through as they became members of the army and until the battle of fort Wagner. All Quiet on The Western Front also showed me how soldiers morale can go from being good, to being awful. Like when the German Emperor came to the front line, the men where sad when they found out he was little and with a weak voice. World War 1 could also be part of reason for the spanish flu, which many think is because of the artillery shells digging up so much dirt.
It also shows the effect the war has on soldiers. In one scene you see people ask a wounded man if they can take his boots, showing how important the little things are for these soldier. There is another scene while they are all inside the bunker, there are some new recruits and they pan the camera to show a boy who is covering

The Effects of War Throughout history there has been an immense amount of wars. Since World War One which was from 1914-1918 there has been 260 significant wars; one of those wars was World War 2. To be the country we are today it takes many daily sacrifices. In Slaughterhouse Five the main character Billy Pilgrim, is affected mentally, physically, and emotionally from being in war. Being in a war especially World War 2 you see many people die, they can be your friends, family, acquaintances, or even a stranger.
Present throughout the book is the theme of disillusionment. In the school, they’ve been told by their schoolmasters and parents that unless they join the war, they would remain cowards. They see propaganda after propaganda, all alluding towards the glory of battle and warfare. Out on the front, they realize that nothing was further from the truth. Their dreams of being heroes shattered, like when they compare themselves to the soldier on a poster in chapter 7.
War creates tremendous amount of trauma and destruction to the human race from explosions to mass massacres. At the front-line a soldier is a brave man who sacrifices his life to fight for the freedom of his country and if he is not killed by the war he is scared by the psychological effects of war that will live on for the rest of his life. Within the novel All Quiet on the Western Front and film Born on the 4th of July the author Erich Maria Remarque and director Oliver Stone both set a strong example and express the true gruesome and terror of war. The movie is about the teenager named Archie Hamilton, he wanted to do something in his life. Archie thought to fight in the war would make differences, he didn’t know what the war would be like. Unfortunately, he and his friends have unrealistic ideas about what they are going to face while serving. The movie shows the tragedy of war through the emotional connection characters have, and focuses on the experiences had by the newly enlisted group of friends. I both enjoyed and did not enjoy the movie All Quiet on the Western Front. The parts that I enjoyed included the detail and historical accuracy which could be lined up with the information we have been learning in class.

Judgment at Nuremberg is a movie which was directed by Stanley Kramer and was written by Abby Mann based on a true story of a tribunal that happened in Nuremberg, Germany in 1948 until 1949. The film with 179 minutes duration shows us the tribunal to trial four NAZI judges who were very famous in the NAZI era. They were Dr. Ernst Janning, (Burt Lancaster), Emil Hahn (Werner Klemperer), Warner Lampe (Torben Meyer) and Friedrich Hofstetter (Martin Brand). The judges who were presiding in the tribunal were Judge Dan Haywood (Spencer Tracy) with two other judges who were American judge and arrived in Nuremberg in 1948.
