When one hears “desert”, we think of lifeless land, no color or animals. We think of endless land filled with nothing but golden brown sand and maybe a camel here or there. However, the desert, specifically the Sahara Desert is much more than a golden brown lifeless land. The Sahara Desert is the largest desert in the world. It is said that the Sahara measures approximately 3,000 miles from east to west and between 800 and 1,200 miles from north to south and has a total area of 3,320,000 square miles but it does change from time to time with life ever-so changing. Male fennecs mark their territory like any other male dog would, by urinating. Fennecs aren’t too big as they measure up to 2m. The foxes do not way much as they come in and weigh between 2.2lbs to about 3.3lbs. They become very aggressive during the mating season. For diet, most fennec foxes are “opportunist eaters”. They eat plants, rodents, insect’s, eggs, reptiles, etc. They have also adapted and learned how to go without water for long periods of time. Most of the foxes are cream colored with a black tipped tail. People locally in the Sahara like to keep them as pets to trade since their appearance is so adorable and are widely hunted for their fur. There is not data currently to represent how many fennec foxes are around, hopefully soon with technology ever so changing, there will be an easier device to help find the data on the fennec foxes. With a bit of knowledge on how animal’s survive the desert, how do humans
