In chapters nine and ten, the author Gary Thomas does not hold back in his presentation for the need of physical fitness. The information and arguments he provides in these two chapters have applicable truths in them for the reader. I admit that as I read his material I had mixed thoughts, and I agree with the author on several points. Like the author I believe that physical fitness is vital for healthy living. However, there were moments I found dissonance with the author.

The declaration represents the full vision of what America should be. Thomas Jefferson took on the job of writing the first draft in 1776. The Declaration consists of an introduction saying we owe the world explanation for separation, statement ideals about government, a long list of injustices against the British, and a declaration of independence from Great Britain. There are four ideals expressed in the Declaration of Independence: Equality, Inalienable Rights, Consent of the Governed out, and the right to Alter or Abolish government.

Athletic training offers many opportunities and characteristics that interests me for my future career. Athletic trainers get flexible work hours, multiple benefits, many great opportunities, and much more. They get to work with various types and ages of people from children to adults and work in many different areas. Athletic trainers have a wide range of jobs. They apply protective or injury-preventive devices along with basic first aid treatment.

Athletic participation at all ages has increased tremendously over the years. Student-athletes are working harder to become bigger, stronger and faster. As the number of athletes rise in schools, so does the chance of athletic related injuries. This is leading to the increase number of athletic trainers at the high school level across the country. Athletic trainer is defined as a “health care professional who collaborates with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation” (AMA 19).
The career choice that I have chosen is to become an athletic trainer. I love to play sports and be around sports, so I think that being an athletic trainer would be a good career for me. I like to help people and make an impact in other peoples life and becoming an athletic trainer would allow me to help people recover, start to feel better, and get back to what they have to do. There isn’t much better than doing a career that you enjoy and like to do plus making pretty good money doing it. I just feel that becoming an athletic trainer and doing it as a career would be the best fit for me.
In Charles Taylor’s Ethics of Authenticity, he talks all about the true meaning of being authentic and the flaws. In summary, his ethics of authenticity is to take on the project of creating yourself and to just generally have an open mind. If you don’t have an open mind you don't realize all the good things in the world you are missing out on. For example, if you receive education you would have an open mind towards learning about new things around the world. Lastly, the idea of self definition in dialogue is an important ethic of Charles’.

Music enhances athletic performance because it causes dissociation. Dissociation refers to the possibility of diverting the mind’s attention away from sensations of pain and fatigue. Research has shown that if one’s attention is not focused on feelings of fatigue that their level of work output increases. Dissociation benefits athletic performance because it narrows attention and allows the body to focus on the amount of information it is able to process.
