So, who is DeVoe? Known by the civilian name Clifford DeVoe, the man is a genius. Literally. He invented a ‘thinking cap.

Once a member of the Injustice Society, DeVoe is considered one of The Flash’s oldest enemies.

The character has existed for 80 years with DeVoe being the first person to occupy the mantle of The Thinker. Yeah, talk about an original alter ego name.

DeVoe was a member of the early version of The Suicide Squad. We aren’t taking the one with Joker and Harley Quinn. He was also a member of the Injustice Society, the evil equivalent of The Justice Society of America. The Justice Society was a precursor to the Justice League. Jay Garrick was a member during the Golden Age of the early comics.

It has been assumed that he will have a version of his Thinking Cap. It is likely that as the season progresses, he becomes more powerful by using microchips. However, the writers could combine elements of all the Thinkers into the character. That would create the unique ultimate villain for Barry and his team to face.

Could he be a tougher enemy than Savitar? Only time will tell.

Abra Kadabra is the man that killed Gypsy’s partner. He makes a reference to DeVoe while telling Barry about them being enemies. He mentions that DeVoe hurts him but not as a severely as Savitar.

Those were the only mentions of the character but it was enough to know that DeVoe is a relatively bad guy. He hurts the team in ways we don’t know yet. That begs the question, just what kind of a role will DeVoe play in Season 4?

How DeVoe Could Play A Role In Season 4

Before we start jumping into how DeVoe could play a role, we need to consider something. What could Barry and his team have done to tick DeVoe off? At this point, we don’t know. We know with Reverse Flash that his killing of Nora Allen was an accident and that he was trying to kill Barry. Nora just got in the way.

Now, how could DeVoe play a role in Season 4?

Let’s look at what we know about Season 4, first. Perhaps what we know already might shred some light DeVoe’s involvement.
