The Flood In South Carolina

Due to the recent events, the groups of society have been majorly affected. The flood that happened in South Carolina, not only destroy many homes and family but also changed many of the social group and the socialization by people. Even though the flood affected many people, I personally did not get affected. Where I was at the time did not get hit by the storm, only lost power for an hour or so. The worst that happened was not having water to drink, till it is boiled. None of my family was affected either. Overall nothing changed between how I interacted with people and how they interacted with me. I did not volunteer, due to the fact that I was still working. Since not much damage was done to the house. If we were in the lower class, our house might have been swept away, because we might have been where the water was the highest around the poor area. We would not have had much food stored if we were in the lower class, so would have had to go to a soup kitchen. It would have been harder to overcome the damage that was done to the house because of where we lived if we were poor, would proudly have to stay somewhere else for a while. This does not include if they are rich or poor, handicapped in any way shape or form, or what age they are. So if these did not appear in society I believe people who are not “white” would likely get more help. I believe if one's skin is not white, they will get more help. Now I am going to change subjects a bit, and then I will get back to the point at hand. When I was younger, I was in the ESOL program. At the time, I was living in the poor area and lots of kids (American and non-America) could not write or read English. Instead of helping all the kids the school only had one English program to help kids learn English and that was the ESOL program, paid for by the state. The school itself did not care enough for the American kids to learn English, it cared more about the kids that were not American. So to get back to the question at hand if the person at hand is in need to help and they are not white, they will get help faster and they would also get more help. This is of course if it is not anything to do with anything else except for race. So the “non-white” people who live in America would have an easier time getting back to normal comparing to a “white”
