In the beginning of the chapter Nick receives a call and finds out that Gatsby fired all of his servants because Gatsby wanted to avoid others from knowing what him and Daisy were doing and replaced them with Wolfshiem’s men. Next day Nick was invited to the Buchanans’ house for lunch with Daisy, Gatsby, Jordan and Tom. Later at lunch at the Buchanans’ house Daisy introduces her daughter Pammy to Gatsby and Nick who have never met her before, Gatsby was surprised that Pammy was real. Tom returns from a call he was on with Wilson and decides to take Gatsby and Nick for a tour of the house. After a while the guys return and Daisy suggest they should go to town even though it is very hot. Daisy compliments Gatsby and tells him that she loves him. On the way to town Tom has to stop for gas, Tom stops at George Wilson’s garage. While Wilson is filling up gas Tom learns that Wilson is trying to move West with his wife because George believes that Myrtle is seeing someone else. Nick figures that Tom and George are in the same position, both close to losing their wife’s. When the group reaches New York they decide to get a room at the Plaza hotel. At the hotel room Tom starts to question Gatsby, first about his habit of saying “Old Sport” then about the authenticity of Gatsby attending Oxford. Gatsby replies saying he was only there for five months because of the war. Tom then asks Gatsby about his feelings about Daisy and Gatsby reveal that Daisy loves him and that he loves her. Gatsby makes Daisy say that she never loved Tom but Tom points out their history together while and this gets Daisy all upset because she realizes she loved Tom at one point in time. After this argument Tom started asking Gatsby about his wealth and reveals he has done some investigating and found out that Gatsby is a Bootlegger. Gatsby feels like he is losing Daisy to
