The Great Gatsby movie remake of the classic book from F.Scott Fitzgerald made in 2013 directed by Baz Lutherman was well, great. Lutherman’s interpretation of the story was enjoyable even for the book lovers. In the movie there were scenes that were literally brought to life by the actors almost as spot on as the class book. Actors like Leonardo Dicaprio, Carey Mulligan, and Tobey Maguire star as the main characters in the film. In the movie it shows the story of the millionaire Gatsby and his next door neighbor Nick and what unfolds gradually throughout film. As the movie progresses you learn that Gatsby has always loved Daisy Buchanan and you learn how he has become the man he is because of her. The parties Gatsby has are captured on film. His lavish lifestyle that Nick learns about as he helps Gatsby become reacquainted with his lost love. …show more content…

When she helps Gatsby see Daisy again by telling Nick of her and Gatsby's plan is the only time she is even relevant in the story. Her role in the movie as Nick's love interest is put on the back burner to show the main story of Gatsby and Daisy. The Gatsby and Daisy moments are captivating however. In the film the memorable scene of Gatsby showering Daisy with all his clothes and he pulls them out of his drawers makes sense and after watching it makes you understand the struggle that Daisy has.
