It is the people’s “right to resume their original liberty, and, by the establishment of a new legislative, (such as they shall think fit) provide for their own safety and security” (Locke).

Both thinkers proposed answers to the same question of what knowledge specifically is and the factors involved in the process of acquiring knowledge. Descartes and Locke are responsible for the theory of knowledge also known as epistemology, in the philosophy study. Philopshers had different beliefs in regards to how to obtain true knowledge.
