As we know Ned is a man with extremely high moral standers and he hold himself to those standards in every action he takes, this is his fatal flaw. As to whether or not Ned should have heeded her advice, I don’t think he should have gone about things the way he did. For starters I believe that confronting her was the wrong decision. If Ned had just been able to keep his mouth shut and leave her in the dark so she did not know his plans, then he would have been much more likely to be successful in his endeavors but as we saw things did not turn out the way he wanted. Cersei is way too smart and powerful, also heartless and cruel but that’s a different story, to be given any sort of warning like the one Ned gave her. he was a hateful, arrogant man who had no idea what he had gotten himself into and deserved every single ounce of pain he endured in his death. I say this because as we can see from the little bit of back story we got on the Targaryens, Viserys has always mistreated and abused his sister. Even once he “sold” her to Khal Drogo he continued to disrespect her and the Dothraki.
