The Hero’s Journey is an ancient archetype that is used in our modern life to tell the tale of a hero’s journey. Whether metaphorical or real, it shows the incredible transformation of the hero and it reveals their life purpose. It’s a powerful tool that is The X-Men is a great example Logan’s psychological journey teaches him that he should overcome his fears, embrace his weaknesses to make them the strength, and use that strength as a power to help society. Besides the mutant background, Rogue knows her past and who she is. She knows that if she touches someone for more than 30 seconds, she could put them into a trauma attack, or even death. While Logan doesn’t have one single memory of his past, or who he is. Deep down inside, he’s frightened of the person that he is. We see that later on when he meets Jean Grey, she examines Logan by pressing her two fingers at the sides of his temples to analyze his brain. The director wanted Jean to show us, as the audience, what is going on inside Wolverine’s mind, and show us his past. She also shows us the breakthrough of the moment that the Nazi’ surgeons surrounded him to prepare for the surgery. If you look back at the very first film footage of the movie, and the present moment, you’ll see that the boy whose parents were taken away by the Nazi’s, was Logan. The pain that he had gained. The suffering that had turned to isolation. It was extremely hard for him to get through the barriers and get past, but he got through it and had opened up his inner character. He started to trust the ones around him. It sure wasn’t easy to get used to Cyclops, but they both bonded together, through the help of the X-Men team when they tried to save Rogue, after she was captured by the evil-minded villain,
