The Hero's Journey In Freak The Mighty By Rodman Philbrick

Many books follow the pattern of a hero’s journey, which is a cycle that begins and ends in the main character's ordinary world within twelve steps. Freak the Mighty is a story about the adventures of two inseparable best friends (Kevin/Freak and Max) who go through countless adventures together and are opposites, yet are perfect matches. In Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick, Max and Kevin follows the hero’s journey throughout the story and become friends. Kevin follows the hero’s journey in the story Freak the Mighty. One stage of the hero's journey is the supreme ordeal. In this stage, the hero has to face the greatest fear, they will also face death and fight the greatest enemy.
