In life, individuals strive to be successful; however, how does one measure their success over their lifetime. As for me, I measure my success by the accomplishments I achieved in my short lifetime. The accomplishments always involve family, job, and education which are driven by a strong desire to be successful in my personal and professional life. The legacy of a successful person is the blue print for others to follow in order to achieve greater success in their life. In April 1998, I was hired by the Clarksville Police Department. From 1998 to 2002, I served in the capacity as a patrol officer. As a patrol officer, I learned quickly the duties associated with patrol related functions were always different; nevertheless, I felt as the job I was doing was fulfilling. In 2000, I became a member of the Clarksville Police Department, Tactical Unit. I served with the Tactical Unit in the capacity as an entry team member, squad leader, assistant team commander, and team commander over the next fourteen years. In June 2002, I was promoted to detective and served in the Clarksville Police Department, Major Crimes Unit. For approximately ten years, I was the case Agent and/or participated in many state and federal large drug conspiracy investigations many of which involved state and federal wiretaps. In August 2012, I was promoted to Sergeant with the Clarksville Police Department and I was assigned as a patrol supervisor. In October 2008, I applied for readmission to Austin Peay State University and after being accepted I began my college academics with approximately twelve semester hours. At the time I was readmitted to Austin Peay State University, I was working approximately sixty hours a week on several different large drug investigations. Nevertheless, over the next two years and two months, I successfully completed a rigorous academic schedule while working sixty hour work weeks. In December 2010, I graduated Austin Peay State University with a Bachelor of Science, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security Degree, Cum Laude, with a 3.69
