On November 22, 1963 time froze when the beloved John F. Kennedy was tragically taken from this world. We will be looking at two accounts of the assassination, the first will be the official account AKA, the Warren commission 's report. The second will be from Doug Horne and his 5 volume work with the Assassination Records Review Board. After we have looked at the two accounts I will then tell you what I believe happened.

Reading Log #3 In My Hands: Memories of a Holocaust Rescuer by Jennifer Armstrong Plot Pages (180-263) Irene was risking her life every single day by hiding her friends in the major’s house. Anyone who helped the Jews was a capital crime and would be punished with death. Having Jews hidden in the house was not easy for Irene, but the major demonstrated affection for Irene and followed whatever she said, which made her glad. Later on, Irene met a man named Zygmunt Pasiewski and they created a strong friendship, which made her introduce him as her cousin to the major. While Irene believed luck was with her, she was caught talking to two Jewish women in his kitchen.
During the Holocaust Erich Schoen had to live with many strangers. Sometimes it was very uncomfortable, but he also made many friends. Sometimes people would try to help him but since Erich did not know them he tried to avoid them as much as possible. But working with many people for many months had Erich make friends. He liked the fact that he could talk to people in the concentration camps without feeling out of place or feeling uncomfortable.
In the novel Night, Elizer Wilson experiences traumatic events during the Holocaust, and constantly describes him, his father, and the other Jews as objects multiple times in the book. From these camps, Jewish people weren’t as human, giving the Jews the belief that they were nothing more than “things.” Thanks to this, the Jews believed that they were no more than animals, or objects thanks to: cattle cars, identities stripped away, and forced migrations between camps. The cattle cars were used to transport the Jews from camp to camp during the Holocaust. They would stuff Jews into these carts in very cramped numbers, making the ride unbearable for the Jews.
The holocaust would kill 6 million people in death camps because they weren’t part of Adolf Hitler’s “Master Race”; amazingly people, like Iren Safran, were able to stay alive in the camps long enough to be liberated. In 1933, Adolf Hitler came into power of Germany, and with him began the Nazi regime. The Nazis had but one goal, to wipe out the Jews of the world. Many different peoples that Hitler did not see as part of his “Master Race” were exiled to camps where they were killed in a barbaric fashion. By the end of the holocaust, Hitler and the Nazis would have killed millions of people.
Historians have been debating how the spirit triumphed during the Holocaust for years. The spirit triumphed through the Holocaust through many, many distractions, nature, and the support and love of family and friends. The Nazis had killed, and enslaved so many Jewish people in concentration camps. But, the Nazis couldn’t take their spirit from them.

Firstly, the students need to aware of and understand the magnitude of the massacre. The lack of information could lead to many misconceptions. For example, in the Jim Keegstra case of 1985-1992, Keegstra was claimed to have taught students that, “an International Jewish Conspiracy is working to destroy Christianity and create a new world government based in Israel.” (Calgary Herald)These type of ideas can create confusion in young people’s minds and make them think that it never occurred. They should be taught the whole aspect and realize that not all German people were Nazis.

While the majority of people today understand at least vaguely what the holocaust was, yet there are actually an aggrandizing amount of people that don't fathom or apperceive what it involved. Imagine Being beaten, starved, and sleeping in tiny rooms with 30 other people everyday of your life. The holocaust is one of the worst time periods in history. Millions of people murdered because of their beliefs, looks, and even because of a mental disease. The nazis were the worst people in the world at that time, murdering and torturing innocent people because they thought they were dominant. Millions of people were impacted by the holocaust because they were separated from their families, starved, and the mass number of deaths..
I have always had this odd fascination with the Holocaust. I don’t have a familial history attached to it or anything, yet I’ve still felt connected to it. My first encounter with the Holocaust was in elementary school. A Ukrainian Jew, a survivor of the Holocaust, came into my classroom and talked with the students through a translator. What I remember most clearly is when he mentioned every nationality that he met while in a concentration camp: Russians, Slovaks, Germans, Polish, the list goes on and on.
