The Home Depot At Home Depot, it is clear that the customer is the first priority. The workers work very hard to make sure the customer is completely satisfied with their time spent in store, browsing their website, and on the phone with them as well. Home Depot employees are trained to give 110% all day, every day. The Home Depot has a mission statement, as well as a value wheel that is in each store, which conveys the importance of the values and service Home Depot should provide and put forth. Their mission statement says, "The Home Depot is in the home improvement business and our goal is to provide the highest level of service, the broadest selection of products and the most competitive prices." Home Depot. The case comes from Law360 in New York. Law 360 has struck a settlement deal with two men who claimed a male human resources manager's advances created a hostile work environment, resolving a lawsuit that was heard en banc by a federal appeals court in June. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit granted a joint motion to dismiss from Home Depot and former store managers David Corbitt and Alexander Raya, sending the case back down to a district court with instructions to dismiss. Edward Hawkins, an attorney for Corbitt and Raya, confirmed Friday that the case had been settled but declined to comment further. A representative for Home Depot also said that the case had been settled, but did not elaborate. The plaintiffs alleged they were fired for complaining about harassment from regional human resources manager Leonard Cavaluzzi. Then, in December of 2009, the Eleventh Circuit withdrew the July opinion and substituted a new one, which reached the same conclusions. Schnapper, who has handled more than 70 Supreme Court cases, filed the petition for certiorari on March 4, asking the nation's highest court to review the Eleventh Circuit's ruling. Raya and Corbitt, who were Home Depot store managers in Florida and Alabama, said Cavaluzzi began making inappropriate sexual overtures soon after being transferred into their region in March 2005, and that the harassment went on for nine …show more content…
