Stephen King is a Novel
“Monsters are real, and ghosts are real too. They live inside us, and sometimes, they win.” Stephen King has had his fair share of inner demons throughout his life and is not afraid to express his experiences with them through his writing. Stephens genre of choice is horror, which makes sense when you consider the nature of his inner demons. He has expressed what they consist of through various forms of writing and in many of his interviews. What he expressed mainly involves three aspects of his life. American novelist, Stephen King, uses his life experience to convey his drug addictions, inspirations, and fear within his writing. Stephen King is a novelist who took his hardships from his childhood, adulthood and uses them to share his experiences through fictional stories. Stephen King was born on September 21, 1947 in Portland Maine and is still alive today. His family is comprised of his wife, two sons, and a daughter. Once in an interview King has said “One snort and cocaine owned me body and soul. . . It was my on-switch.”. When asked to elaborate on what he meant he explained that the drugs and drinks helped him get past his writer 's block that he supposedly had often. One of the reasons King remained an addict so long is because he was afraid that if he stopped, then he would not be able to write like he did before. He was fearful of failure due to writers block. So, he continued to use cocaine and drink alcohol in order to continue his work. During King’s middle of the night writing marathons, he supplemented the gallons of beer consumed with Cocaine.
