The American dream is not as easy as people say it is. The American Dream is being able to afford the necessities you need, without having to struggle and suffer just to put food on a table for their families. People think it’s easy to live the American Dream, but little do they know that there are people out there struggling to support their family. The American Dream is difficult to achieve but very possible if people could find the opportunity and available to them.
The American Dream is a dream that all mankind has. A lot of the common people place confidence in the fact that poverty is one of the biggest factors holding people back from that dream. People who agree that poverty is detrimental and will not let people achieve the American Dream find ways to help them be able to experience it. Some people might assume that poverty actually helps them achieve the American Dream. Each year the poverty rates are increasing tremendously and will keep increasing if no one takes action.
In Ben Franklin’s essay he thought success was being morally perfect. For example, he said, “I wished to live without committing any fault at any time…” Sandra Cisneros’s essay wanted to teach people to turn their problems into achievements. For instance, she said, “I’ve managed to do a lot of things in my life I didn’t think I was capable of…” These sentences from their autobiography both are explaining how they’re going to reach their goals of success.
The whole source of the American dream is want, wealth and love are just an effect of desire. All dreams start with the want for a different way of life, which is made available by money or love, but it is the initial desire of something new that starts the dream: “In the 1920s, the American Dream started morphing from the right to create a better life to the desire to acquire material things. This change was described in the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, The Great Gatsby” (Amadeo). Desire is the trigger that motivates the American dream. It starts the ambitious behavior to gain

In fact, many believe that it is quite improbable that anyone could experience their own American Dream due to government restrictions that may seem to prohibit their growth. In a survey conducted by ORC International, around 6 in every 10 Americans believe that the American Dream is no longer available to them (Lubhy). Restrictions that make those surveyed feel as though the American Dream is impossible include the worsening economy and the rising costs of college tuitions (Lubhy). To be more specific on the economic concern, many believe that most of the American government’s money goes
The other text mentioned above, “Is the American Dream still Possible”, also has examples of citizens that have yet to obtain the American Dream due to their living conditions. Shelly Comer, 43, is a divorced mother of 3 who has worked hard for her entire life. However, she just recently is going into debt so her eldest daughter, Michelle, can go to college. When Ms. Comer was interviewed about this, she responded, “I have nothing saved for me. I’m putting it all into the kids, so that they can succeed in school.”
The American Dream is dead and cannot be achieved because people don’t have the right upbringing and getting out of poverty is difficult and somewhat impossible. One of the most common arguments that people state why the American Dream can’t be achieved is because people who are poor can’t get out of there situations. In a book titled “Nickel and Dimed” by Barbara Ehrenreich she states “When someone works for less pay than

The American Dream isn’t Possible Statistically, 57% of America’s population think that they have achieved their American Dream when thinking about their financial situations. That’s only a little over half of the American population. That must mean the rest are either not mature enough or haven’t achieved their version of the American Dream. Sometimes they are faced with financial obstacles that prevent them from moving forward towards their dream, they may be prevented by the social class that they are born into, or they will never achieve their American Dream because it is ever-changing and they always desire more.

The American dream is not possible in the United States of America today. The terrible economy, the abysmal people, and rotten society of today have ruined the chances of that. First and foremost, the economy has made it so that, while trying to get a good education and stable living conditions, many end
The presence of gender issues and inequality within the 21st century was a future that most would have not predicted. The inequality between the two genders has been continuously present within society for a number of decades, yet the progress in which to decrease such issues has been nothing but slow.
