The Hunger Games: Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins is the sequel to The Hunger Games. In the first Hunger Games, it ended with Katniss and the other tribute from district 12 raining victorious. In the book, Katniss Everdeen, the victor of the previous Hunger Games is forced to once again go fight to the death in another hunger games. Catching Fire begins with Katniss in the aftermath of her victory. With the calculated rebelliousness of her performance in the Games, she angered the leaders in the Capitol. So instead of enjoying semi-retirement and celebrity, Katniss is drawn back into the games. Katniss stands for something greater than herself, she stands for the rebellion.
