On August 28, 1963 Martin Luther King gave his “I Have a Dream” speech demanding equality. Desegregation is not allowed at the time, so whites and blacks did not eat together, go to school together, nor associate with one another. Martin Luther King words uses a rhetoric technique to convince the people for justice.
He was a well-educated man who received his doctorate degree from Boston University. In this speech, he is informing the Americans that they are coming up on the edge of justice. He knows that the feeling of justice is going to be well deserved, he just doesn’t want them to thrive on hatred or bitterness of the situation. When the Cival Rights movement was going on, there was a great deal of segregation between whites and blacks. Whites had great advantages over African Americans.
In the Navy we use a training system called Personnel Qualification Standards or PQS for short. The ideology behind this program in that it puts the bulk of responsibility on the individual Sailor in regards to gaining the basic knowledge of the program in a set time frame as opposed to requiring system experts to continually take time to train said Sailor. Once the Sailor believes he or she has the basic knowledge down they need to seek out someone already certified in the program, explain the program and receive a signature from the systems expert. His main goal was to stop segregation and that all man and women of all races are created equally. When slavery was abolished, there was still hatred toward the black race. African Americans rights were limited, and they were treated poorly to a lot of white people. Martin Luther King Jr was a African American that hated the fact that people were being treated differently because of their color of there skin.
