Recommended: Importance of bear hunting in New Jersey
In the editorial by Ron Judd titled “Why returning grizzlies to the North Cascades is the right thing to do” found on the Seattle Times’ website, Mr. Rudd states his case for the reintroduction of Grizzly bears into the North Cascade Mountains of Washington State. He makes the argument that fatal interactions between hikers and bears are not a valid argument against reintroduction because the rarity of these encounters and the rarity of aggressive bears. He also cites some of his personal experiences encountering these animals and both his own and their reaction. Mr. Rudd uses this information to paint a picture that the bears are not as dangerous as commonly believed, using as an example the presence of grizzly bears in Yellowstone National Park which sees many more visitors than the North Cascades. Another point that Rudd discusses is his belief that bears are an important part of the wilderness experience, he shares his feelings after one of those encounters: “With senses heightened off the charts, it was as if I had stopped observing the natural world, and for the first time, stepped all the way into it.
Clubs and Arms: Same Thing, Right? The second amendment is a very heavily controversial subject. More conservative people are pro-second amendment, while more liberal people are anti-second amendment. In Dave Barry’s horatian satirical article, “The Right to bear clubs”, the second amendment comes into light. Barry tries to lighten the subject of guns by using the Ballistic Golf Club as an example for the gun, and by trying to tell America, specifically the anti-gun party, that guns are okay to have.
The United States of America abounds with beautiful scenery, amazing natural resources, and fascinating animals. Each state can boast of its unique natural resources. The state of Alaska provides an abundant habitat for numerous species of mammals, fish, and birds. Many species of mammals reside in Alaska. One is of the bear species, the black bear.
BEARS Did you realize that a bear can almost weigh as much as a car and can be strong enough to break parts off of a variety of items? Although they’re shy and easily frightened, you should maintain a distance. How big is a bear?
To some people rifle hunting isn’t fair for the animals, because it’s a high-powered weapon and can kill them
Recently Owen Aerts has been hunting. Owen had shot a 6 point buck. He went hunting to manage the deer population in Lakewood Wisconsin where there was a lot of deer hunters out in the woods on that day ,but Owen got a buck. A lot of people just went out in the woods and sat next to a tree.
Hunting licenses If you like to hunt do you think the deer tags are too much? Well I do because if you don 't see a deer that is big enough you are out at least $31 for one tag and that is way too much. I want them to lower the price instead of raising it because they get extra money.
Supporters claim that their sport helps conservation efforts and helps bring money to the communities in which they are hunting from. Opposers claim that occasionally there is a fine line between trophy hunting and poaching, because much of it is illegal. They also claim that only a small percent of the money made goes to help conservation efforts, and it causes a decrease in the wild life population. I consider myself as an opposer in most cases. I don’t believe it is our job to decide whether an animal should live or die, and I don’t see how killing an animal is supposed to help the population.
To begin with, trophy hunting should not be legal because these animals should be protected. In fact, the New York Times article states that the Obama Administration has placed lions in Africa under the protection of the Endangered Species Act. Also, the Junior Scholastic article stated that more than one million people signed a petition asking Zimbabwe to stop issuing hunting permits to kill animals. The petition and being added to the Endangered Species Act goes to show that people want endangered animals protected.
“When nature calls you, answer.” Ever since I was very young, nature has always called me to enjoy her peaceful benefits. Growing up on a lake, I was fortunate to be on the doorstep of so many sights and sounds of the wild. When I turned twelve, I experienced duck hunting for the first time. There is something so calming about listening to the birds chirping at first light and hearing the many voices of the eager wood ducks getting ready to fly.
The Hunt It was a gloomy September day and the bear hunting season was about to begin. The old farm truck was loaded full with barrels of cooking grease, assorted candy, birdseed and tubes of sticky frosting. We were to hunt four hours north in a little town called Orr, Minnesota. My family had an 80 acre lot that we used strictly for hunting. My mom volunteered to sit in the stand with me and videotape the hunt.
Hunting is defined as the act of killing or taking down a creature. Killing is a synonym of murdering, and murdering is a crime. Some may say that hunting can provide food, which is a necessity for humans, or that is one way for them to make money. Despite these facts, some people are selfish enough to exceed their wants and hunt down animals for pleasure. That is why, sport hunting should be made illegal because hunting destroys animals ’wildlife habitats and hunting contributes to their extinction.
Hunting has been a part of our society since the first man set foot on this continent, but animal rights movements have become popular in our society recently that has questioned the necessity of hunting in our modern times. Because of this, animal populations are left freely to where they can multiply at an alarming rate. Hunting is a great means of controlling animal populations’ growth, although greatly opposed by many. While hunting is a very controversial topic in our society, there are great points for being for and against it. Hunting is a way that humans see to keep balance of the ecosystem.
One of the best days of my life was when we went deer hunting in South Dakota with my dad, brother, uncle and two cousins, but before I tell you about my trip let me tell you how it started. We left early in the morning to head to South Dakota where my cousin Jacob, who had just got a job as Game warden in Custer State Park, was taking us deer hunting. We got as far as Fargo, North Dakota when my cousin Keith asked my dad where our license were. Then to our surprise we forgot them back at home. We were lucky enough to have my two aunts and mom bring us the license because they were going to Fargo that day anyways for a girls shopping day.
