Conformity is defined by changing for someone or a group in other words practically going by what everyone else says and does. Conformity can likewise be either positive or negative depending on how you prefer to fit in and for whichever purpose. In the long run, when someone conforms it will turn out not as planned and they will end up turning on themselves, not only are they just changing one thing but they are changing everything, not for the right reasons though. In the novel, Stargirl conformity can be presented as the problem or solution to whatever occurs in the novel. As getting further into the novel, it is fairly evident that Leo has feelings for Stargirl and is ducking them away. Leo resembles to have the fear that he will not conform to everyone else at Mica high which at the moment is a adverse problem for Leo. One challenge he is facing is, for example, would be how he is ashamed of his new love Stargirl because she is the school mockery yet in addition to that majority of the school is against her. "Hi, Leo!" a chorus of girls calling my name I turned..."Starboy"...I could have never admitted it, but I was thrilled!"(pg.77). In this case, Leo conforming would be a positive also negative thing to do because he should support Stargirl however by doing that he is leaving his whole school furthermore his friends on a cliff edge, one small mistake and Leo will lose them. By having Leo conform but love Stargirl at the same time will generate numerous obstacles throughout the novel making this much difficult for him than it already is. Some of the significant obstacles Leo will face are for example being shunned by everyone at Mica high what is intended by this is that he will be rejected by everyone at Mica high, no one will talk to him, yet worst of all of the students at Mica high will pretend that Leo is non-existing. To conclude it is clear that Leo is struggling with conformity and is not able to comprehend or choose whom to go with, Stargirl or all of Mica high including his friends. This situation will most likely have an adverse outcome due to the lack of choices in front of
