Fully functioning people experience their feelings more deeply and more intensely than others. This applies to both positive and negative emotions. Fully functioning people accept and express their anger. To do otherwise would be to cut themselves off from their feelings. Because of this sensitivity, these individuals experience a greater richness in their lives (Burger 281).

The existence of life is living here and now. But that does not mean we do not remember and do not learn from the past. Nor does it mean we are not planning for the future. Only, we must admit that it is a memory and a dream because what we experience is here and now.

The individual has a free choice, what happens to him depends on himself. “Now that Elvin has proved not to be a Man of Principles but a Snake in the Grass of Love, I 've started eating meat again. I mean, really, why not?” (Sheldon 222). In the quotation, Janet already finds out of Elvin’s intentions but she had learned to accept that fact. Now, Janet feels free to choose and manage her life. She can stay to be a vegetarian or not. Janet can sustain her feeling or move on from Elvin. It is because Janet feels free to choose whatever she wants. The sense of freedom can determine the direction of behavior, this is very important because Janet will be able to adjust her thoughts and
