Entering college is one of the most important and stressful chapters of every student’s life. Because it dictates everything from studying ones passion to getting ready for the job applicable on their academic background. Here in the Philippines, every high school student must take another two years to finish high school. The program was called as Republic Act No. 10533 or “K-12 program” signed by the former President Benigno Aquino and his government and every student who is considered part of this are called “Senior High School (SHS)”. It was said that the program would prepare students on how college life works and how to attain a complete academic year to become more competitive wherever they would apply for a job. This programis adding two more years that targets students to prepare for tertiary, middle level skills development, entrepreneurship and global employment. Preparation is one of the most important keys on how to deal with college life especially when you’re incoming freshmen.

Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself (J. Dewey, 1952). According to Susan Thurman (2017) Students who have been adequately prepared for college and a career have multiple advantages. Adding remedial courses is frequently a surprise to students who have done well in high school that leads to prolonging their typical timeline to graduate and lead students to incur additional tuition and book charges.
