Introduction: There are almost seven point six billion people alive in the world today. As many as six thousand and nine languages are spoken.1 Humans are social animals and the ability to communicate is essential to our continued survival and evolution. Knowledge of a language opens up many Windows, both in one´s professional and social life. By learning a second language the barriers between different cultures are broken down and the world becomes a more connected place. Increasingly, English is becoming the global language. People who score highly within this form of intelligence are usually able to express themselves very effectively through both speech and the written Word. They also show a certain aptitude for learning a foreign language. Poets, writers, actors, lawyers and speakers are people that Gardner associates with having high Linguistic Intelligence. People who score highly with Interpersonal intelligence are generally skilled at understanding and dealing with others. They are effective at managing relationships, debating points and negotiating conflict. There are many professions that are a natural fit for people with interpersonal intelligence: teachers, therapists, diplomats, negotiators, and politicians. Annie´s intelligence is well suited to both a direct method: inductive teaching and exclusive use of the target language, and a communicative approach: “authentic language use, drama, notions and functions.”4 Real life applications of use, storytelling, speeches, reading to class and debates are all learning activities that could be used to keep Annie motivated and inspired.
