Cleisthenes thought the key to a better Athens was to give less power to selected ‘important’ families and more power to normal citizens. He made Athens’ first democratic constitution and was the founder of Athenian democracy. It was now the focus that Politics involved everyone, not just the wealthy.
Athenian democracy was amazing. It guaranteed a voice and vote to everyone, not just the rich. Athenians created the idea of lively public debates. This was an inspiration to others who sought a democratic freedom and is the highlight of election time in the United States, with town hall meetings, city council debates, and presidential debates, to name a few.

Those who were less fortunate should be the concern of everyone for all should be treated justly and loved. Christianity teaches to love everyone for ‘there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond [slave] nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus,’ as written by the Apostle Paul. This idea to love all has caused a change in the way the United States and other countries to look at a whole host of differences and to treat all with love and fairly. Serious criminals enjoy this teaching because they must be treated with dignity which seems a little strange when the crimes done made the victim feel less dignified. This fair and loving treatment now embraces homosexuals and those who are united in gay marriage. Laws are now in place to protect everyone, despite their gender preference. No matter what one believes about the previous statements, the idea of equality is necessary to a democracy and has worked, though many have waded through rough waters, for the United
