Making the decision of what college was best for me, was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. I was torn betweeen a private university and a public university. Each school had different things to offer me and seperate characteristics that I loved. My decision was made a lot easier once i discovered that Old Dominion University was more cost effecent, has newer dorms, slightly larger, and has more availabe recources to ensure success. Due to lack of Government funding, attending a private school is much more costly than a regular four year university.
The private school I was wanting to attend was Virginia Wesleyan. Virginia Weslyean has a softball program that I have alwasys watched and wanted to be apart of, becsause of this Virgina Wesleyan was always one of my top choices. When i applied to this school i was offered a $12,000 renewable scholarship for all four years. At first I was thinking that they were offering me a big scholarship and that without a doubt this was the school i wanted to go to. After recieving the rest of my acceptance letters and looking at the average annual cost for all my top choices, i noticed that Virginia Wesleyan was much more expensive than i thought. For an undergraduate degree at VIrginia Wesleyan I would be paying roughly $43,380, compared to $26,800 at Old Dominion. Taking in account my scholarship I would still be paying roughly $31,000 with additional costs for my books to attend this

As a senior in high school i had friends that attended both Old Dominon and Virginia Weslyean, so I was fortunate enough to have been able to see what both schools were actually like. One of my very close friends lived in the England House at Old Dominion, and after touring Virginia Wesleyan, as soon as I walked into the England House I knew this was where i wanted to be. Everything was updated and I felt more at
