Attending Bowling Green State University I would have better knowledge as to where everything is located. I would also know many people in the area and many students who attend Bowling Green State University. As for Towson University I would have really never been to the area and would have no one I would know in the area either. The area would be in a completely different state, and a completely different town. I feel that when my parents are that far away from me.
As a prospective college student, one looks for a wide variety of specific characteristics in a future home; A certain size, definitive mission statement, divergent student body, blossoming educational programs, and an abundance of opportunity were at the top of my list. I found all of these criteria to not only to be met by Drake University, but most were far surpassed. The institution seemed to be progressive and yet historic, accommodating to those for whom it was necessary while allowing vast amounts of freedom to all. Drake University appeared to be perfect in all regards, an utopia of equality. Shortly after moving onto campus, I discovered that my campus of bliss was not quite the fairytale story of impartiality I had been told.
Without a doubt attending North Carolina Governor 's School West has had the greatest impact on my thinking. I was privileged to join a few hundred of the brightest minds of my age in Winston-Salem, North Carolina for a six week experience away from outside influence. This immersion was especially life altering because of how open-minded everyone was to new perspectives. This truly created an environment of learning and expression in addition to being a major liberation from my everyday life as I had to be truly independent while on Salem College’s campus. I attended as a choral ensemble student, but was able to experience so much more in addition to choir.
One of the many reasons I am looking primarily at Penn. State for college is the number of different, unique people that I can connect with. I have lived most of my life as the son of a member of the United States Air Force, and the diversity in the places that I have lived and the diversity of the people who lived there have deeply shaped who I am. I have consistently lived with people of different religions, different races, and different heritages throughout most of my life, and some of their ideas and ideals have been passed along to me. Once my father retired from the Air Force, I found out how much I had taken this diversity for granted.
The College of Wooster is a school of opportunity. From classes like Stage Management Production, to chances for archaeological field work that I’ve read about in The Trowel Owl, the academic possibilities are limitless. Organizations like the Archeology club enrich the experience by allowing a possibility to explore the major through museum visits and guest lectures. I am excited about the Independent Study program that Wooster provides, which would hone my research skills and allow me to exhibit my academic talents. From my research, Wooster students are not just diverse in their academics, but also in their opportunities to get involved.
I expect to graduate from Northeastern Illinois University with High Honors, in May 2018 and I will be the first in my immediate family to obtain any college degree. An education at the University at Buffalo would be a major factor in reaching my goals on multiple levels. Being able to learn practical techniques from some of the best faculty in the field, at an internationally renowned institution, will make my knowledge base infinitely larger provide me with the skills to conduct credible research. Studying at a university that expects the most from its students is one of the challenges I will embrace and one that will prepare me for an accomplished future. Additionally, the MSW/Ph.D. Advanced Standing option will allow me to build on my existing BSW knowledge and earn my degree more quickly.
This opens up many opportunities for myself and allows me to be educated in the area I love the most. While at Annenberg I will learn the benefits of communication on not just a personal level, but regional and global levels as well. This is needed to make a difference which is not only my mission, but
I’ve always had a wide range of interests, but I’ve never had one subject that I knew I wanted to pursue. With such a broad and unique set of courses and majors offered, along with having an advisor to guide me through my decision, I know that at the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences I can take the time to experiment with different fields and find the program for me. Northwestern will broaden my worldview and equip me with the critical thinking I need to succeed. I look forward to the opportunity to discover my passion while gaining an education at such a prestigious, top-ranked university. The liberal arts curriculum will prepare me with a well-rounded education to move forward into the career of my choice with confidence.
The program at UT is specifically and especially conducive toward my goal. Since the make-up of the International Relations program at the university enlists a "Global Studies" component, I am afforded the opportunity to focus on the social aspects of the world more. This focus has allowed me to branch out into the realms of human rights and
Sticking true to this, I decided in my junior year that when I graduated from high school, I would go to college in New York City. Even before visiting, I romanticized everything about the city, and no Law & Order: SUV episode or horror story about New York could take my sights off of the city. Going to college in New York is my chance to experience a big city, and to experience new things. Most people do not enjoy change, and will even do anything to resist it, but I am not one of those of people. Falling into constant routine for me becomes dissatisfying, and my need for change is reflected in my enthusiastic attitude about moving almost a thousand miles away from home.
It is always held in such high regards, and they greatly encouraged me to apply. My goals have always been to use my degree to get into a reputable company as a mechanical engineer and eventually my final ambition would be to create my own successful firm with my colleagues. I believe that a degree from this university will best set me on this path of success.
Attending Georgia Military College helps students prepare themselves for the future. Georgia Military College organization makes students consider the future, while they successfully grow toward graduating. As I continue to attend college and dedicatedly work towards the future, it is up to me to decide the goals that I am striving to work for, whether they are college, career, or lifetime goals. All goals have to be worked for, which means that they are certain tasks that have to be completed in order to pursue those goals. Quite frankly, college requires a lot of work, however, students should put their goals in perspective so that they can achieve them in college successfully.
