A technology infused life requires a technology infused learning environment. It 's no longer good for teachers to limit the technology use for students when problem solving. People are coming out with different types of technology and different ways to get stuff done everyday, and I think that we need to prepare students more for the new world.
For students to be able to master technology, they need access to a constantly evolving world of technological tools and activities that require decision making, teamwork, problem solving, and innovation. Teachers need to develop a new mindset of teaching through technology which involves a big switch in teacher/student roles.
Today’s students have access to far more knowledge than their parents once found in textbooks and on maps. With the click of a mouse, they can access the collective knowledge of all mankind, via the Internet. Teachers and students today need a firm grasp, not only of current technology, but of technologies to come. In schools students already use video and media creating programs for projects which helps develop creativity and problem solving skills. Schools are saving money on textbooks, supplies, and supplemental materials like maps and calculators, since students can read from ipads, and laptops. A lot of students do their work on their laptops, and hand it in by email or through online forums. Technology has changed every part of the way we live, and the way we learn. It’s helping primary and secondary school students enjoy school more and behave better in the classroom. For many non-traditional students, it’s the only thing that makes attending college a possibility at all because now they can now take university classes on their own time, as their work and family schedules
