My interest in love first began when I started a relationship with my partner a few months ago. After a few weeks, I had a little bit of trouble keeping up in this new relationship so, I talked to my supporting mom. What her response did was made me question more about what I already knew about love and what I’ll get in this relationship. I was fascinated with the concept of what is love and what do you get out of it. I knew at first this seemed like a broad subject, but, everyone has their own interpretation and I wanted to expand off of what others’ have already concluded about it, as well as applying my relationship to this. Like someone who puts a new filter when they take a picture or when they wear 3D glasses with the red and blue lenses. It makes sense that people see things in a different light then they did before being in a relationship. People can be excited to see and do different things and they see their partner’s views on everything and why they see them the way they do. Having a new pair of eyes like this, makes life adventurous and daring, and get to learn something new everyday, whether from their partner or by themselves. Things like new ideas, places, or personally, newer emotions. People may never know, for example, what jealousy might be until they love someone else and get in a situation that makes them jealous. With this purpose in mind, it’s important to acknowledge that love is a way to connect with others and having new views will not only open up to more people and look at something with an open mind. Finally, the quote from Mahatma Gandhi, really helps wrap up what you get out of love, “Where there is love, there is life.”, clarifying that if there’s love anywhere, people will see life through new lenses and experience new encounters, whether it would be negative or positive, it’s important to take in and learn
