Before each class I will stand in the hallway next to the door watching the students walk through the halls. Specifically, making sure that their is no altercations within the hallway around my classroom. Standing by my door I will greet all student who enter while ask them how their day has been going. As the students enter my classroom they must place their homework into the green box next to the front door. After entering my classroom all students must turn off all electronic devices and places all nonessential material for the class underneath their desk. I expect all students to have only three things upon their desk, a pen/pencil and notebook and the reading material that will be discussed that class period. Further, one I have finished taking attendee there will be a short discussion about the previous nights reading assignment and homework. I will write down the main characters and characters within the scene we will focus upon for the class period. I will then stand in the middle of the classroom so that every student can hear and see me. For about ten mounts I will give a verbal lecture of the literary terms that my students must copy into their note books to further understand the intricacies of the text we are reading. Once my students have finished writing all the literary terms that I have defined into their note books we will turn to the chapter that I have assigned for the previous nights homework, and discuss the important scenes. As a class we will then take part in a fifteen minute discussion about the meaning of what is occurring within the scenes that we have read for homework, and the students must apply the literary terminology that I have lectured upon a the beginning of the class to determine the significance and the passage.
