The atomic bomb was an idea created by Einstein and his fellow scientists. A letter was sent in secret, by Einstein for FDR. The key was that uranium could be a source of energy, as well as be used to create weapons of mass destruction. Einstein realized that the atomic bomb would change the world. For better or worse. In this paper, I will look at the creation, use of, and influence of the atomic bomb on politics and foreign policies. The idea of the atomic bomb was proposed on August 1939, and planning for the project began in 1941. On 1942 the project began and was headed by Major General Leslie Groves of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer. Them, along with the scientists they worked with had to have tight lips on the project as they didn’t want any word being sent to foreign nations. Now this was said to not have been the way things work, because some soviet spies had already caught on to the project through censorship being carried out in the US.
