What is the Ku Klux Klan. Many people have heard of the Ku Klux Klan but not many people know what it is. The Ku Klux Klan is most often know and called the K.K.K. Although very many people have heard of the Ku Klux Klan most people do not know very like about it or not anything at all. So than what is the K.K.K

The K.K.K. was originally founded in the year 1866. When it started it was just a little social club of a handful of friends in Pulaski, Tennessee. Then in the summer of 1867, local branches of the Ku Klux Klan started meeting. Already by the year 1868, the Klan had evolved from a social club into a white robed terrorist group that most people recognized. The name Ku Klux came from the Greek word kyklos which circle means. The one main goal of the Ku Klux Klan was to restore white supremacy in the south. When the Klan had first started they started playing prank on people and than soon after started to attack and kill people. The K.K.K was mostly against blacks and Republican leaders in the south. There would be many reports of blacks being hung by the Klan. A lot of time the reason why most of the Klansmen were not arrested or accused because policemen and people were afraid that the Klan would target them. The when the klan attack they would mostly burn and bomb back schools, and churches. Overall the K.K.K was very racist to black people. Samuel L. Jackson says, K.K.K artifact collector, “People know about the Klan and the overt racism, but the killing of one 's soul little by little, day after day, is a lot worse than someone coming in your house and lynching you.” Beside black people the K.K.K eventually were also against Catholics and jews. “The most successful terrorist group in the United States for almost 70 years was the Ku Klux Klan. They hated Catholics, Jews, and blacks. They were prone to violence.” said, Pete Hamill ,Ku Klux Klan history expert.

The Ku Klux Klan was the most known and most powerful United States based terrorist group for around 80 years. The K.K.K was really started from pretty much a club of confederate soldiers. They were manly against black, and Republican leaders but they were also against Catholics, jews.The number one main goal of the K.K.K was to restore white supremacy in the south.
