Hinton, tells the story of Ponyboy Curtis, a 14 year old teen in a group of “greasers”. However, these “greasers” seem like thugs and delinquents with no honor. Or do they?
Jordan Harris The Summary I have read the book The Outsiders and it was amazing. The Author is S.E Hilton and the genre is realistic fiction. There are 2 main characters Ponyboy and Johnny. Ponyboy is apart of a group called the greasers where he is the youngest, him, Johnny and his brothers are all in the gang as well. Johnny is 1 year older than Ponyboy unlike Pony,Johnny has problems at home.

At first many players even during spring training did not want anything to do with him being on the same team made up of all white people even white managers and other higher officials. Ponyboy and the gang are like brothers, one night Johnny and Ponyboy get into some trouble with the socs. This interaction changed all of the gang members.. Dallas Winston was a juvenile delinquent who was very proud of his body length long criminal record. Often bragged about his records and how he was good at fighting and getting into trouble.
In the novel, The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton, the author discusses a conflict between two groups of students. The point of climax in the story is when Johnny, the Greaser, stabs Bob, the Soc. On the night of the murder, Ponyboy and Johnny had ran away from home because Ponyboy had got into an argument with his brother Darry. Ponyboy ran to Johnny and told Johnny that he wanted to run away. They headed down to a park and the saw a group of Socs heading their way.
“While no one gang had dominance over the entire city of Chicago, Johnny Torrio and Al Capone would change all that” (Maclean 71). “When it had become apparent that the Volstead Act would become law, Torrio immediately began making plans for the Colosimo mob to cash in on it. Unfortunately, Colosimo wasn’t interested: he was happy with his brothel and casino empire as it was” (Maclean 71). He was newly married and enjoyed showing off his own bar to his friends (Maclean 71).
They had one son together name Albert Francis Capone. Albert grew up nothing like his father, who was always seeking power and money. Albert was always trying to stop the crimes in the city by being recruited by the police but had no idea that his father was the one leading crimes that were occurring throughout the city. Al Capone became part of the Chicago Mafia in 1910. Johnny Torrio, Capone’s crime mentor, resigned as the head boss of the mafia in 1914.

Kay Adams is not clueless. At least, that is what I plan to prove through journal entries written from the perspective of Kay Adams in The Godfather (1972). This narrative focuses on Kay’s life during Michael Corleone’s absence in Italy. It provides insight into what Kay’s life consisted of at that time, how she must have felt, and ultimately, how she decided to marry Michael. Many brush Kay off as an insignificant side character, but she has more depth and character than people realize at first.
As a result, The Godfather ends up becoming a successful blockbuster, but it’s also artistic, and reflective of our society. The Godfather caters to both casual and critical audiences. Coppola uses graphic violence to draw in casual viewers, but he draws in critical viewers by having the film become a social critique of society. Auteur films are meant to give us a view of the world. In addition, the film draws parallels between the mafia and the police, by essentially stating that our society is corrupt.
The fabled “Land of Opportunity” where the government is one “...of the people, by the people, for the people.” (Lincoln) where the streets are paved with gold and every one has the chance to make his one’s life to be a spitting image of a legend. A land where everyone has the fortuity of becoming so powerful and influential where he could make a god kneel at his feet. A land where rights are given, not earned, and one is ensured life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness just from mere residency. A land where regardless of one’s name, culture, religion, race, or character, they are subsidized with all they need to achieve the unachievable.
The Godfather (1972) is said to be one of the greatest films ever made. When this movie was released in 1972, it was nominated for Ten Academy Awards and it won three: Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay. The film was adapted from the book with the same name written by award winning author of mafia fiction, Mario Puzo. This film takes place in a span of ten years following the life of Don Corleone, the head of the Corleone Crime Family. It was a film that changed the history of cinema, introducing a very talented filmmaker and several acting legends in the telling of a story of a Sicilian Crime Family.
