After reading The Nazi Seizure of Power By William Sheridan Allen, I completely agree with the author's thesis, and I liked how he went about supporting it in his book. One might think that given what the author was trying to support, that this would be a book full of bland and dry facts, however, since Allen focused on the Village of Northeim alone, it was easier for him to shape the text into a story. He begins the book by giving the reader an overview of the history and layout of Northeim. This information is crucial to understanding how the Nazi party could so quickly and so abruptly take political control of such a seemingly stable village.
