Some of the problems with education start with the government and the policies set in place. This paper will discuss how the impact of Trump’s budget on colleges will cause a reduction in college programs that help low income and minority students, and a combination of the budget, immigration laws and the healthcare laws will threaten higher education. Additionally, Trump’s budget will impact colleges by causing a decrease of international students attending college, which will cause colleges and universities to experience a significant decrease in income. Moreover, Trump’s budget and healthcare laws will cause higher education to cut their funding. Replacing the Affordable Care Act will cause higher education to cut their spending, which will cause students to pay more for college. In addition, colleges’ tuition is based on government subsidies and causes tuition to increase. Colleges will remain successful, since they receive revenue from students and the government, which will cause students to be in debt. Moreover, Trump’s budget will prevent college tuition from increasing is to cap the payment for student loans at 12.5%.
