European settlement in the New World had a number of impacts that opposed what the Native Americans wanted. On the one hand, Europeans see it as an incontestable civilizing action on the other; however, it led to the disappearance of important societies, or the change in the way of life of those groups. European conquerors brought not only goods to trade with aboriginal tribes in America; they also caused the destruction of some of those societies. The Natives could not fight against the European colonization, which created vast political changes and cultural, causing their societies to succumb to the Europeans. The aim of this research is to point out the negative impacts the European explorations had, in the aboriginal societies that lived in the Americas. …show more content…

Over time, diseases devastated native groups in America since they were not immune to the diseases that Europeans had. One reason for that is as Jared Diamond, author of Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies stated, “The Incas had llamas, but llamas aren’t like European cows and sheep. They’re not milked, they’re not kept in large herds, and they don’t live in barns and huts alongside humans. There was no significant exchange of germs between llamas and people.” Since Europeans had been creating domestic animals such as cows and pigs, for many years, they got immune to the diseases that those animals transmitted, different from the natives of the "New World", such as the Incas, that domesticated mostly llamas, and thus does not have diseases that could pass to
