The Neolithic Revolution, was also very well known as the agricultural Revolution and it changed our way of life. This Revolution took place around 8,000 years ago in the Middle East and China. These people made many technological innovations such as clay pots, the plow, the wheel and much more. In the paleolithic period, people were food gatherers, but in the Neolithic Era, people were food producing because of the success in the agricultural department. Since the farmers produced a surplus, it allowed them to do other jobs, allowed the growth of cities and villages, and helped the first civilizations develop.

Throughout the world and in various regions, pastoralism eventually succeeded most hunter-gatherer societies.

Lineage exogamy means that lineage members must look for their marriages partners in other lineages.
Dr. Jared Diamond feels that Neolithic Revolution was the worst mistake in the history of humanity. Diamond believes that the start of agriculture caused a number of negative impacts on humanity, and life would be better off without it. " With agriculture came the gross social and sexual inequality, the disease and despotism, that curse our existence." (Diamond). Would humanity be better off if farming and domestication of animals didn't exist?
Throughout Global History, there have been many important turning points including, Renaissance, Middle ages, Industrial Revolution, French Revolution, etc. The most important turning point in all history is the Neolithic Revolution. The Neolithic Revolution marked the rise of civilizations and lead to modern societies. Without it, humans would not be where they are today, in a fully industrialized society. The Neolithic Revolution is the purpose of the way things are, therefore it is the most significant turning point in history.
Have you ever wondered what Agricultural Revolution was and if it had a positive or negative effect on human civilization? Well, the Agricultural Revolution had a huge effect on civilization. It was when humans discovered how to farm! This took place from about 10,000 B.C to about 3,000 B.C. I believe it had a positive effect on human civilization for a couple of reasons.
The Neolithic Revolution was the beginning of new lifestyle for many Neolithic cultures. New ways of living were developed by these cultures involved in the Neolithic Revolution. One of the new lifestyles introduced was the agricultural lifestyle. The video showed in class on the Natufians, who were the first farmers of the world, explained thoroughly the advantages and disadvantages the Natufians experienced in their agricultural lifestyle. For example, an advantage of their new lifestyle was that they had a surplus of food and moved around much less often so they were able to support more children.
The Neolithic Revolution brought grand improvement and innovative development through technology. The Neolithic revolution occurred around 10,000 BC to 8,000BC. Agriculture was the main component that was affected during this time. This meant improvement for tools and making the agriculture process less complex, which helped develop the tools we have today. A refinement in agriculture had begun.
To begin with, families were able to be stable and advance in other technologies and establish cities. Due to the advantage to settle in one place other industries opened creating a modern industry. Architecture, language, and art also made a huge advancement when mankind began to settle in areas. Jared Diamond made quite reasonable allegations to defend his point of view on why agriculture was not the best thing that could have happened to mankind. I do think that human being gained a lot of knowledge because of agriculture but also gained stratification and diseases.
