Organized Crime in Brazil
An organized criminal group would best be described as a group that consists of three or more individuals, by which exists for a variating period of time and acts to commit serious offenses in order to receive a financial reward of some sort. The first part of this paper will discuss a detailed description of the foundation of organized crime in Brazil along with how it was created. The second part will discuss the history or crime in Brazil and how they are structured to obtain financial rewards without being detected. The final part will discuss the primary goals of organized crime members and how they managed to separate major capitals of Brazil into sections.

São Paulo also has a large amount of communities with the largest being Heliopolis with a population of 100,000. (Cruz, 2016, p.383) Different from Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo communities are widely spread out and is not similar to the long trail of communities that can be found in the Northern and Western parts of Brazil. These communities on the other hand can be located throughout the city capitals and metropolitan areas. Along with that, drugs and crime rapidly establish itself within these communities occurring primarily in the urban areas of the country. Gangs are created in these communities to ensure that they are well protected and to also set a safe ground for drug trafficking. (De, 2008, p.52) Also, when state government assistance and city hall assistance is absent, these gangs fill in the role to look after and protect and residents of the communities in the urban areas. Small groups are often formed such as supporters of soccer as a disguise for their actual goals to commit criminal acts on people or rival gangs. As previously stated, it is usually the members and residents of these urban communities who are known to be the innocent victims. Of those victims, they are struck from being caught in the crossfire and are often killed due to a mistaken identity of another gang member.
