“The Outsiders” is a book written by a 15 year old S.H. Hinton. It was published in 1967, however the movie was released in 1983. The book and movie “The Outsiders” has many similarities and differences. “The Outsiders” also has many important themes. There are many similarities in the “The Outsiders”. In both the novel and the film, the book “Gone With The Wind” written by Margaret Michel was an important illusion. While watching the film, I realized another similarity. The poem “Nothing Gold Can Stay” was also an important illusion. Ponyboy remembered the poem from “Gone With The Wind”. The narrative and movie also had the same characters. Ponyboy, Johnny, Darry, Dally, Soda Pop, Two Bit, and Steve were all in both the book and the movie.
