Javelin throw may have once been used to collect food and kill opposing forces, but it is no longer used as a weapon. Javelin throw has a rich history, and has grown immensely throughout the years. Athletes strive everyday to conquer the current world records famous athletes have set. Jan Zelezny and Barbora Spotakova are leading examples of famous javelin throwers who have succeeded throughout the years they have been competing. Javelin is an individual sport which helps the athlete, and their confidence and independence. Javelin also requires a uncomplicated technique, which can help the athlete easily learn how to successfully throw the javelin. Any athlete who desires to compete in this sport will have to build many abilities to participate in the sport.
