The book Macbeth was a really interesting book, although some parts in the book were very confusing to me and maybe many others. The exposition of the book Macbeth iswhen Macbeth's prophecies from the witches and his decision to kill Duncan to become king. The rising action of macbeth is when macbeth kills duncan and lady macbeth frames the guards for killing duncan. Porter compares inverness to hell. Macduff and lennox come for king duncan.
In the first sighting of Lady Macbeth in the play, it shows her as a powerful and ambitious character, who was amenable to do anything in her power to get whatever she wanted. She begins by envenoming Macbeth's mind with the idea of murder “…O, never shall sun that morrow see! (Act 1, Sc 5, Line 53)”, schemes out the murder, and then she convinces him, with vitriolic words “…Art thou afeard to be the same in thine own act and valor as thou art in desire? (Act 1, Sc 7, Line 39-41)”, to commit the murder of king Duncan. When suspicion arises against Macbeth, she covers for him to protect herself.
Throughout the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare, the character Lady Macbeth has changed rapidly. In the play, Shakespeare argues that Lady Macbeth decided to evolve into the state she’s in at the end of the play. Her power begins to increase as her character grows and grows throughout the play, due to the decisions and sacrifices that she’s made in the play. Many objects can symbolize the character Lady Macbeth, but in my opinion, the raven, a knife, and blood, are the symbols that explain Lady Macbeth’s character better.
Shakespeare, like any other man in the 16th and 17th century, saw ambitious and dominant women as evil and even disturbing or disturbed. From Macbeth, we can see Shakespeare feels women should be challenged and punished because they are trying to change society. Nowadays these ambitious and dominant women are regarded as brave and respected because of their ambition, such as Lady Macbeth’s ambition to become Queen. Shakespeare presents Lady Macbeth as mentally disturbed.
The tragic play Macbeth written by Shakespeare demonstrates two characters who love each other but whose decisions make them grow apart in ways they could not imagine. This shows that she has the ability to manipulate people, especially her husband into doing what she wants them to do. Lady Macbeth strategically plans out the murder of Duncan and has complete control over it Lady Macbeth is shown as a very courageous woman while Macbeth is presented as an inadequate person who can’t do anything without Lady Macbeth . Traditionally, women aren't shown as dynamic and powerful figures but Lady Macbeth is portrayed antithetical and different.
Lady Macbeth Portrayal Throughout centuries, countless of personalities have risen and has had an effect either positive or negative to the community that revolves around them. Each person has a unique but defined character trait that sets them apart. However, if this was not the case, and everybody operated the same way, the world will be in a linear path summed up of same ambitions, goals, and character traits. How does Lady Macbeth change over the course of the play? Over the course of the play the characters of both Macbeth and his wife Lady Macbeth develop intensively. They share similar ambitions, but it is Lady Macbeth who dares to do unspeakable things to accomplish them. This creates great conflict within Lady Macbeth who does not conform to the traditional female stereotypes of her epoch.
Lady Macbeth’s strong character portrayed in Act I Scene V creates suspicion of dark events later in the play. In the play, Macbeth by William Shakespeare, Lady Macbeth reveals her true character in her speech and foreshadows King Duncan’s death. Throughout her speech, Lady Macbeth reveals her lust for power and desire to kill Duncan to become queen. Although Lady Macbeth’s character is recently introduced into the play, she reveals her true self as a sadistic and covetous person which foreshadows the murder of King Duncan and Macbeth’s prophesied future.
