There are many women who have been raped and it can be argued that ethically they have the right to have an abortion as they did not choose to get pregnant, but in Christianity’s view a life is a life, regardless of how it occurred. Christians are said to be apart of the pro-life arguments (Ridder, Karen. "Abortion: 5 Pro-Life Arguments Made by Christians.) Abortion runs counter to most Christian beliefs. Even those denominations that support the right, believe that abortion is most-often not the right choice.

Abortion is defined as the purposeful termination of a fetus, either naturally or medically (Abortion 2). In this instance, an unborn fetus is killed either through natural causes such as a miscarriage, or by medically induced methods which are assisted by medical professionals. (McFall 188). Medically induced methods are the most controversial of the two because a mother cannot control the natural circumstances of abortion, but medically induced methods are controlled by the mothers who hold full responsibility for ending their unborn child’s life. The question in discussion is, why is abortion legal if a fetus is being denied a life?
This concept tells that a pregnancy must be considered legal by the figures that enforce the One-Child Policy in order for a woman to give birth (Goodkind). Therefore, family planning authorities have the right to declare a woman’s pregnancy as legitimate or not, by any circumstance they deem appropriate. Sterilizations play a huge portion in family planning and abusing women’s rights. The government forces birth control methods and reproductive cycles, public records of menstrual, and tampering with women rights (Goodkind). In the early years of the policy, surprisingly, women’s sterilization became common after 1979.

Some people think abortion is very bad and that it should not be allowed at all. They think abortion is like committing murder as it is killing the human fetus. Others feel that the parents should have the right to choose and it is not murder until the baby is born.
Abortion is a sensitive topic. There are good reasons on both sides of the argument. Discussing abortion can help us understand the pros and cons of abortion and how it can help or hurt our country. Abortion could possibly benefit our country in multiple ways, financial and in terms of safety. Abortion should be legal.
Abortion is much more than a question of how religious you truly are, but rather how much you value morality and life. From a moral standpoint, there is no explanation to why abortion should be legal and supported. Morality is mostly objective and there is a baseline for cultures all around the world, rape is bad, theft is bad, murder is bad, except when it’s an embryo or baby. But to even talk about that we need to know why abortion is horrible. Abortions normally happen during the first trimester which is conception to 13 weeks old.
