Concerning the discussion that is taking place within congress about arming teachers, I’d like to share why it’s not a safe thing to put in our schools. If there was a gun in each class room a lot of the kids in class would be to scared and worried and in their head about whats gonna happen to them if they teacher turns it on them, then focusing on the lesson and the class work. You want to put to guns in secure us from other kids but the teachers might be the problem, there are some teachers that would use their gun and there power to make there students do something they don’t want. You can say that it won’t happen but you don’t wanna risk anything with the kids of the future. Kids are not the only people with mental health issues and what if the adult with the mental health issue just happens to be a teacher at a school and they snap. …show more content…

Nearly 1 in 5 people have mental health issues in america according to Newsweek.com, there is a high percent chance that one of those people happen to be a teacher. But let's say we did support arming teachers you’d have to remove or rework laws that prohibit guns being allowed in school premise and then there's the argument about what about the ROTC students would they be allowed to carry some sort of weapon to help defend their fellow classmates as they will be the next people to defend us and what if the ROTC students who risked their lives to save their class don't you think they could have done more and not die in the process. We need a real solution not one that can create other problems and dangers to students. And as much as teachers love their students they didn't sign up or grow up wanting to be a teacher to carry a gun and have to be able to shoot another human being if they pose a threat to the
