Assisted suicide respects patient's right to do what they may with life, including ending life during end-of-life experiences. During the making of America, our founding fathers gave the citizens the rights that granted us the right to life, freedom, life and liberty. Meaning under certain circumstances, everyone should be able to have the right to assisted suicide. Scientists and doctors have been experimenting new medicines and different technology to solve the nation-wide conflict of terminal illness. These new discoveries are able to help millions of people in pain and of risk of losing their life. Not only this, but these discoveries have verified and created trust between patients to help heal instead of kill. “First, PAS endangers the weak and marginalized in society. Where it has been allowed, safeguards purporting to minimize this risk have proved to be inadequate and have often been watered down or eliminated over time. People who deserve society’s assistance are instead offered accelerated death...PAS threatens to fundamentally distort the doctor–patient relationship because it reduces patients’ trust of doctors and doctors’ undivided commitment to the life and health of their patients.” Assisted suicide has an insidious effect on not only the patients but also impacts the physicians future patients. This is because many people want to find a cure, meaning that many people will not be able to trust someone who found it ok to assist someone in suicide. Physicians are educated to help other, and have the resources to heal. Instead of using these tools to help, physicians would use them to kill, and ultimately would be unfair and unjust to do. Assisted suicide shows the weaknesses in a society, and corrupts the the medical profession by using tools in which should help people, for killing. Although physicians work hard to save lives, and are considered miracle workers, there are many things that are still a mystery to us, including specific illnesses and diseases.
