What would it be like if the animals already long extinct come back to life again? With technology advancement, this is now possible. There are three ways in which scientists approach this topic.
The first is backbreeding. In this method, scientists find living species that have similar traits with the extinct animal, and selectively breed them so that it resembles the extinct animal even more closely. Backbreeding is already in practice to create animals that closely resemble extinct species such as aurochs. Well, this isn’t ‘actual de-extinction’ but it still helps to fill in the missing ecological functions.
